It's All About Love -- Crissy's Turn!

I am pleased to show off the picture I painted for my nephew's new baby!  She was just born last week and is so tiny!  I hope they keep this in her room to remind her that God's loving arms are always around her.
In keeping with this month's Love theme, I used Lion Hugs, a digi image I created for Squigglefly.  I printed it on Canson 140 lb water colour paper, and water-coloured it using mostly Distress Inks, and a couple of Tombow pens.
I relate to being the wee little lamb in God's big strong arms.  I find that to be a comforting thought.
I printed the Bible verse onto water colour paper too and used a Spellbinders Fancy Tag die to cut it out.
If you want to play along, please read the following instructions:
There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! You may now use images from any company and still be included in the draw for the blog candy prize! Those who use one of Crissy's digi images will be entered twice in the draw. But please respect the rule of no more than three entries per month. Otherwise your entries could be deleted. Go to Sarah's post HERE to find the Inlinkz option where you can show us your challenge project!
There are still a few more posts before the end of the month, so be sure to check back for more inspiration coming from my DT gals!
And check out the side bar for links to where you can find my images, in either rubber or digital formats.  And if you're interested, my personal blog is HERE
Thank you for your visit today!
God bless you!!

It's LOVE with Zoe!

Hi Everyone,

When I saw Crissy's new image this month - Floral Heart available from Whimsy -I was instantly reminded of some of the stamps I used to play with and knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I wanted to play with EMBOSSING POWDER!! Yup! Using a DIGI STAMP!! :)

Floral Heart is THE perfect image to play around with when trying this concept. The idea is to print your digi with an inkjet printer onto velum. I learned of this technique months ago from someone on CDAC. I am sorry I don't recall her name.

I had my settings set to glossy photo paper and on high quality print so it would drop a lot of ink. I had the heat gun preheated, my catching tray right beside the printer and the lid off the embossing powder ready to sprinkle! I probably didn't need to be so ready but it doesn't hurt! heehee

As you can see the card is nice, clean and simple. I did use some of my gadgets and added the dry embossed background and used a scalloped square die for a little bit of decoration. :)

I stamped the grid pattern using a cheap Kaiser stamp I think.

I stuck the vellum heart after it was embossed to some white cardboard and cut it out so it would really pop.

Here is a close up!

Of course the theme of this card is 'LOVE' which ties in perfectly for this months challenge at Sundays with Crissy. Every few days one of us brings you some new inspiration to help get your mojo going! To enter the LOVE challenge you need to go to THIS POST.

I would LOVE for you to try this technique. It really is fun! Of course you could do this with any image but I am allowed to be a little biased aren't I? teehee

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you would like to check out more of my work feel free to drop on over to my CRAFT BLOG here.

Big Squeezes!
